Can severe back pain cause stomach pain?

Question:

Hi. I have severe back and stomach pain and had all kinds of test shows nothing. Nonetheless, I believe the back pain is causing the stomach pain. The pain has been chronic and ongoing for a long time.

Answer:

Wow, sounds like they have put you through the ringer for tests! Sometimes it can be hard to decide if it’s better that they don’t find anything or that they do.

back pain Can severe back pain cause stomach pain?If you feel it is more related to your back then I would certainly suggest an assessment with the Physiotherapist in your area. Physiotherapists are highly educated diagnostically oriented professionals that should be able to at least tell you if it is your back. If it is more visceral (i.e. kidney or stomach) that will be up to your medical doctor to diagnose.

Thank you for your question.
